The Board of Bishops of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, recently contracted Sirius Networks LLC to design, host and manage their corporate web portal now located at www.amez.org. AMEZ.ORG is the official online ministry of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church and its Corporate web portal. The Board of Bishops wanted to move the corporation into the digital information age in order to access new members, to provide critical information to its membership and those outside the Connection and to increase its visibility in religious issues resolution and the world church denomination stage.
Sirius Networks chose to use a portal platform so that the Board could manage the business of the church as a whole and to manipulate data for their individual Episcopal districts seamlessly. The process included the creation and implementation of a custom search engine data base for all of its churches both in the U.S. and overseas so that a visitor could find an A.M.E. Zion church anywhere in the world where they have a presence.
Additionally, the company created a communication tool called AMEZmail for the corporation to use as a management tool and the membership could access for their personal religious and spiritual use with others globally without SPAM.
The Church is now in a great position technologically to meet every need it may have in the future for its work and communications processes.
